Lolo & Polly Semantic

photo girls madagascar

My head is spinning with stories half finished, which stymies. There are many photos I care to share but the words take work and time. As Wikipedia kindly delivers a word, quote, image, article and selected anniversaries of the day each day (Subscribe for yourself here) I shall borrow inspiration from there and post instinctively without fussing too much for a while.

[Daily article] April 7: Chrysiridia rhipheus; The Madagascan sunset moth is a day-flying moth of the Uraniidae family. It is considered to be one of the most impressive and beautiful Lepidoptera...In Malagasy, lolo is polysemous for "butterfly" or "moth" and "soul"..

Photo; Nossi Bé, Madagascar 2002. The place was feral with abject poverty and I shot carefully from the hip from fear and respect. On film, I didn't know what I had until I got back on board.

Fathers Day

photo nossi be madagascar

Nossi Be, Madagascar. The pasajeros come back aboard tutting and form long queues to complain and pass the time before dinner. The Mud! They bunch together to mutter. The Uncomfortable Buses! That tender ride was far too choppy. Those bloody people had no shoes! An Inadequate Lunch Altogether chime a huddle.

There There we say brightly. Soon be in Singapore.
