I'm all upside down with myself. A Clever Chap took a bit of a stroll around the garden here at FAI HQ and proffered some sagely suggestions on layout and the like. Regulars will notice we've become right-aligned and performed some timely autumn pruning. I'm still getting used to it and cocking my head to one side like a spaniel reading at the screen. Like when you get a dramatic haircut and you keep startling yourself in the mirror.
It's not easy to get a crisp white shot of the ship and it was a little bit of a holy grail in port. More often than not she'll be in shadow and bristling like a pin cushion with cranky port cranes and arc lights. We cycled for miles around a fjord to get this one. Then rewarded ourselves on some rocks with a hunk of bread & cheese a bottle of white and a flask of brew. Don't tell anyone but we hid a P&O crew mess knife under a stone for sheer badness.
The light and the reflections conspired briefly to present this photograph. It came and went in minutes, the clouds shifted in their seats and the wind ruffled the reflection. For once The Bloke left me the shot so I agreed to let him start the engines on sail-away. The whole way back I sing-songed "I got the shiiip shot, I got the shiiip shot!'. I'm surprised he didnt thump me.
